Dr. Zakir talked to the students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at JUST
A discussion meeting was held between the students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Professor Dr. H.M. Zakir Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, who is also in charge of financial and administrative responsibilities at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST).
The meeting was organized to address the existing challenges within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and explore potential solutions. It took place on Monday afternoon at the auditorium of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, located in Jhenaidah.
During the meeting, Professor Dr. H.M. Zakir Hossain addressed the students, stating, "We have documented the issues facing the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. To resolve them, a faculty member has already been appointed as Provost. I hope the issue of receiving student ID cards will be resolved quickly. The medical center will also be operational soon to ensure students' healthcare services. Additionally, I will do my utmost to address the other concerns you have mentioned as swiftly as possible."
In the meeting, students discussed various concerns, including the prompt commencement of classes and examinations, facilitating overseas internships for Veterinary Medicine students due to the specialized nature of the program, increasing internship allowances, swiftly appointing faculty, staff, and officers to different departments to avoid session jams, and enhancing campus security by appointing security guards. They also emphasized the need for the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to be included in the academic calendar to prevent session delays, ensuring all students receive identification cards for safety, and installing nameplates on campus. Their thoughtful feedback was noted by the university authorities.
Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Dr. Md. Ziaul Amin, Registrar Engineer Md. Ahsan Habib, Director of the Student Counseling and Guidance Office, Professor Dr. Md. Mir Mosharraf Hossain, and Professor A.S. Mahfuzul Bari, along with several students from various batches of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine were present at the meeting. Provost Dr. Md. Abdul Halim, Director of Finance Md. Zakir Hossain, Controller of Examinations Muhammad Aminul Haque, Director of the Research Cell, Professor Dr. Minhaj Uddin Monir, Deputy Registrar Nityananda Pal, and students from different batches of the faculty were also present at that time.
